FROM STRONG EVIDENCE TO WHAT MAKES PSYCHOTHERAPY WORK
Increasingly, psychotherapy theory and research has focused on how common factors and the specific ingredients (referring to empirically supported treatments) work together to produce the benefits of therapy. Much of this research shows that the common factors do their work differently in different therapies— but clearly, both the common factors and the specific ingredients need to be integrated.
A keynote by Prof. Bruce Wampold addresses this issue as well as the important question ‘what exactly is evidence based psychotherapeutic practice’? After the keynote lecture, we will have a discussion fueled by an expert panel that focuses on questions such as 'How can research support effective psychotherapy?', 'What makes psychotherapy work?', 'Can eHealth make psychotherapy more (or less) effective?
